World Cup Varna 2025 Brings Together Young Kyokushin Talents from Around the Globe on July 8
On July 8, 2025, as part of the 19th International Martial Arts Summer Camp in Kamchia, Bulgaria, the next prestigious edition of the World Cup Varna in Kyokushin Karate will take place. The tournament offers a major international stage for the best young athletes aged 14 to 21.
The event is one of the most anticipated on the annual calendar of the global Kyokushin community, and for the competitors from the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF). It will gather dozens of national teams and hundreds of young fighters who will showcase exceptional sportsmanship, discipline, and a strong fighting spirit. The World Cup Varna has become an established annual tradition with a long-standing history, serving as a symbol of intercultural exchange and the sustainable development of martial arts among young people.
The grand competition will be divided into three age categories: Juniors (14–15 years), Juniors (16–17 years), and Cadets (18–21 years). Participants will be grouped by age, gender, and weight divisions.
The participants in the first two age groups, from 14 to 17 years old, will be awarded medals, trophies, and certificates to the top three competitors in each weight category for both boys and girls. In the highest age category, 18–21 years old, in addition to the earned medals, certificates, and cups, significant cash prizes will also be awarded.
The prizes for men (categories 75, 85, 85+ kg) are as follows: 1st place – 5000 EUR, 2nd place – 3500 EUR, 3rd place – 2000 EUR, and 4th place – 1000 EUR. In the women’s (55, 65, 65+ kg categories), the winners will receive, respectively: 1st place – 3500 EUR, 2nd place – 2500 EUR, 3rd place – 1500 EUR, and 4th place – 1000 EUR.
The organizers are providing full logistical support, including accommodation (from July 6 to July 13, 2025), meals, and transfers from Varna airport for the competitors, one national representative, and one coach from each country.
The chief referee of the tournament is Shihan Francisco Filho (7th Dan) – a martial arts legend from Brazil, and the co-chief referee, Sensei Ivan Ivanov (4th Dan). National representatives participating in the International Martial Arts Camp in Kamchia will be included in the refereeing teams of the World Cup.
