KWU SENSHI JAPAN 1st International Tournament — A New Chapter Begins in Tokyo
On April 29th, 2026 (Wednesday, National Holiday), the iconic Yoyogi Gymnasium No. 2 in Tokyo will host a landmark event in the world of full-contact martial arts — the KWU SENSHI JAPAN 1st International Tournament.
This historic debut marks Japan’s entrance into the KWU SENSHI international competitive circuit and sets the stage for athletes from around the world to pursue greatness, honor tradition, and elevate their fighting spirit.
A Gateway to the World Stage
One of the most anticipated highlights of the tournament is its role as an official qualifier for the KWU SENSHI World Cup, which will be held in Varna, Bulgaria, in July 2026.
Young competitors aged 14 to 21 will step onto the tatami with a single goal: to earn their ticket to the world. For many, this event represents the beginning of their international journey — a chance to rise on one of the most prestigious global platforms in Kyokushin and full-contact striking.
Open Challenge for the Strongest
In true SENSHI spirit, the competition also includes a non-discriminatory open tournament for ages 21+, where weight classes disappear and only pure skill, power, and heart determine the outcome.
This category promises fierce clashes between seasoned martial artists seeking to test themselves without limits — a format that embodies the ultimate essence of the warrior’s path.
Learning from the Legends – A Seminar to Remember
The day before the tournament, on April 28th (Tuesday), competitors and enthusiasts will have a rare opportunity to refine their craft at a special Kumite Seminar led by Kyokushin legends — champions who once ruled the world and shaped the very foundations of modern full-contact karate.
This extraordinary learning experience bridges generations, passing down wisdom, technique, and philosophy directly from the great masters.
Diverse Martial Arts Expression
KWU SENSHI is known for embracing both tradition and evolution. Alongside the karate competition, the event will feature an Amateur Kickboxing Demonstration, showcasing the diversity and adaptability of the KWU SENSHI platform.
This fusion of styles reflects the organization’s mission: to unite martial artists through shared values of respect, strength, and continuous improvement.
Celebrating Victory and Honor
At the end of the tournament, champions will be celebrated in a “Winners’ Reception”, a formal gathering dedicated to acknowledging their hard work, spirit, and achievements.
This moment of honor symbolizes not only victory in the ring but also the character and dedication behind every performance.
