Shihan Akira Masuda

In March 1991, Shihan Masuda completed the 100-man kumite under the supervision of Mas Oyama.

Born in 1962 in Kanazawa, Shihan Masuda began his journey in martial arts at 16 by joining the Kyokushin Kaikan Ishikawa Dojo. By 19, he made his debut in his first All-Japan Tournament.

Shihan Masuda remained a top competitor in Kyokushin All-Japan Tournaments, defeating notable fighters such as Michel Wedel, Gerard Gordeau, and Michael Thompson. He fought Andy Hug, losing the match, but Hug was unable to walk afterward. In 1990, Shihan Masuda won the championship title at the 22nd All Japan Kyokushin Tournament. The following year, he placed second in the 5th World Karate Tournament.

In 2007, Shihan Masuda published the book “Freestyle Karate,” followed by “Masuda Akira-Go, Budojin toshite Ikiru” in 2009.

Akira Masuda

Shihan Masuda is the President of the KWU SENSHI, All Japan Champion 1990, completed 100 man kumite in 1991, 2nd place at the 5th World Championships 1991, 3rd place at the 4th World Open Championship 1987. He participated in 4 World Championships always finishing on the podium.
