Eduard Aleksanyan before SENSHI 29: Expect More Knockouts in the Heavyweight Division!
Just days before he steps into the ring in Varna, Bulgaria, on December 6, Eduard Aleksanyan took some time from his preparation to share what lies ahead. He is a dangerous kickboxer — WAKO PRO European K1 Champion (2021), Bulgarian kickboxing champion in 2018 and 2020, and Savages Kickboxing Champion in 2019. At SENSHI 29, Aleksanyan will compete for the first time in the heaviest division, over 95 kg, under the KWU FULL CONTACT rules. Here’s what the SENSHI up to 90 kg European Champion told the team of Gong.bg ahead of his return to the arena. Tickets for the big gala night SENSHI 29 can be purchased from Eventim.bg.
- Eduard, you have 12 victories in SENSHI, half of them by knockout. What is the secret of Mr. Action behind these results?
There is no secret — it’s all the result of hard work in the gym and strong mental conditioning. Mental and physical preparation come together as one, and that leads to the results you see. I enter every fight with that mindset and aim to show my skills in the ring.
- What do you think is the key to consistency in this sport — physical preparation, the hunger to win, or the team around you?
For me, the most important factor is the team. When you have the right team around you, everything else falls into place. Second, the fighter must prepare mentally, have the mindset of a champion, and truly believe in themselves. Physical preparation is also important, but comes after. Many fighters aren’t always in top physical shape, yet they break through thanks to mental strength, willpower, and the desire to become champions.
- At SENSHI 29, you will enter the ring in a heavier category for the first time — over 95 kg. How do you feel in this weight class, and do you expect it to change your fighting style?
This will be my first fight in this division, but I don’t expect it to change my style in any way. It’s a new challenge for me, and I’m ready to grab it with both hands. Of course, the preparation is slightly different, but I believe my style — the one I’ve always shown in the ring — will stay just as dynamic, and I will bring it into the heavyweight division as well. Expect more knockouts from Mr. Action! - Your opponent, Marius Munteanu, is well known to fans, especially after the SENSHI 28 Grand Prix. You and Marius trained together in Varna, Bulgaria, during the invitation camp. What did you learn about him then?
What struck me was that Marius doesn’t talk much, but he’s very driven and eager to fight. We practiced some drills together and had a good, friendly sparring session during the SENSHI camp. I don’t think he can surprise me with anything in the ring — I’ve fought many top-level fighters. But I don’t underestimate him either, because the Romanian school is very strong technically, and many leading fighters come from there. They look for the fight and push forward — the same style I practice — so I believe this will be a great and spectacular match.
- Do you have a message for the fans who will come to support you on December 6 at the Palace of Culture and Sports?
Expect a massive bomb to drop in the ring in Varna in the final fight of the night!
- Do you already have goals set for after SENSHI 29 — new challenges, more international fights, or title matches?
I already have a plan for 2026, but I don’t focus 100% on it, because plans often change. I take things step by step, in the order in which they come. I have several offers, but I’ll keep them secret for now. First and foremost, I’m focused on winning the upcoming fight!
