The 1st KWU SENSHI JAPAN Seminar took place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the IBMA Kyokushin Kaikan Masuda Dojo, bringing together martial artists eager to refine their skills and deepen their understanding of Budo.

Diverse Kumite Styles & Special Guest Instructors

Participants had the unique opportunity to experience three distinct kumite styles:

  • Kyokushin Style – Traditional kumite without face strikes
  • Kickboxing Style – Dynamic techniques integrating kickboxing principles
  • Kyokushin Do Style – Kumite with face strikes, utilizing face guards

Adding to the seminar’s value, former K-1 champion Takayuki Kohiruimaki delivered a specialized lecture on boxing punches, offering insights into high-level striking techniques. Attendees engaged enthusiastically, absorbing expert knowledge.

During sparring, Shihan Ryu Narushima provided personalized advice and helped participants refine their techniques and improve their performance.

Exploring Shihan Masuda’s Budo Philosophy

Beyond technical training, the seminar also included a session on Shihan Masuda’s Budo philosophy, allowing participants to gain a deeper appreciation of the essence of Karate-do. This aspect of the seminar emphasized the mental and spiritual growth that accompanies physical training.
